Summer Meals Program In order to ensure children have access to nutritional meals when school is not in session, AUSD will continue to offer its annual free Summer Meal Program. FREE meals will be available to students participating in AUSD Summer School and Summer Extended Learning Programs at eight sites in the district. These eight sites will also offer community meal times for any child aged 18 years and younger. Children do NOT need to attend an AUSD school to receive these free meals. Swearing-In Ceremony & Reception for Mr. Ken Tang AUSD's Board Member & Clerk Mr. Ken Tang was recently been appointed by California Governor Gavin Newsom to serve a full, four-year term on the CalSTRS Teachers’ Retirement Board as the representative of all California School Board Members. Immediately preceding Tuesday's Board Meeting, Mr. Tang will take his Oath of Office, with a reception to follow. Members of the public are welcome to join Mr. Tang and AUSD for this celebratory occasion on Tuesday, February 27th at 4:30pm in the Board Room (1515 West Mission Road in Alhambra).
Parent Workshop: IEP Process We are excited to share information about the West San Gabriel Valley SELPA's parent workshop on the IEPs: THE IEP PROCESS AND HOW TO NAVIGATE IT. FREE Parent Education Academy AUSD is excited to announce Alhambra High School's 2nd Annual PARENT EDUCATION ACADEMY, in conjunction with Asian Youth Center (AYC). This program will be held at AHS' Dream Center but is OPEN TO ANY AUSD PARENT! Classes will begin the week of September 21st and will continue through December. The exact day of the week is still TBD (probably Wednesday or Thursday), but the times will be 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Translations (in Chinese, Spanish, and Vietnamese), childcare, and dinner are all provided. Rain Update - February 4, 2024 Throughout the weekend, we have been in contact with authorities from the cities we serve, as well as the Los Angeles County Office of Education, and are expecting ALL SCHOOLS TO OPEN as scheduled on Monday.All sites will be inspected early tomorrow morning and principals will notify families if there are any impacts to arrival routes or school entries.
