In order to ensure children have access to nutritional meals when school is not in session, AUSD will continue to offer its annual free Summer Meal Program. FREE meals will be available to students participating in AUSD Summer School and Summer Extended Learning Programs at eight sites in the district. These eight sites will also offer community meal times for any child aged 18 years and younger. Children do NOT need to attend an AUSD school to receive these free meals. There will be two staff reports at the June 25th Board of Education meeting. Community members are welcome to submit questions on: (1) Athletics Program Update, (2) Career Technical Education & Dual Enrollment Program Update, and/or (3) Annual Update on Other Post-Employment Benefits (OPEB). AUSD's Board Member & Clerk Mr. Ken Tang was recently been appointed by California Governor Gavin Newsom to serve a full, four-year term on the CalSTRS Teachers’ Retirement Board as the representative of all California School Board Members. Immediately preceding Tuesday's Board Meeting, Mr. Tang will take his Oath of Office, with a reception to follow. Members of the public are welcome to join Mr. Tang and AUSD for this celebratory occasion on Tuesday, February 27th at 4:30pm in the Board Room (1515 West Mission Road in Alhambra).

The Southern California News Group's Readers Choice Awards are out! We are grateful to the AUSD community and the readers of the Pasadena Star-News, the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, and the Whittier Daily News for voting for Alhambra USD for Readers Choice Awards in so many categories. AUSD was named FAVORITE SCHOOL DISTRICT & BEST WORKPLACE in the San Gabriel Valley, fifteen of our schools were named FAVORITE PUBLIC SCHOOL, and the Alhambra Educational Foundation was named FAVORITE NON-PROFIT.
