All of our schools have a comprehensive safety plan and a portion of that addresses how to manage a site during and after an earthquake. As part of our safety plan, our schools practice earthquake drills so that staff and students are prepared. All of our schools are prepared with a response plan, emergency supplies, including water, and AED’s.

FIRST DAY SCHEDULE READY FOR VIEWING

The first day of school will be a 'reverse minimum day' with the freshman and sophomores having to be on campus at the regular time. The freshman will be directed to the auditorium and the sophomores will be directed to the large gym. Juniors and seniors should arrive by 9:00am. First period classroom schedules will be posted all over campus.

The portraits taken at the AHS Graduation Ceremony are ready for viewing. Photo proofs have already been sent. Each graduate for whom we had an email and/or mailing address should have received a copy of his/her proofs. CONGRATULATIONS TO NAM NGUYEN, SPEECH STATE CHAMPION!

Nam Nguyen, a junior at AHS in Speech & Debate, has become the State Champion in Oratorical Interpretation with his piece, "Dennis Shepard's Statement to the Court." The speech was originally read to the court in November of 1999 following the conviction of the murder of Shepard's son, Matthew. This year, almost 200 teams descended upon Cal State Long Beach for this year's annual tournament.

A hearty congratulations to the AHS Thespians for earning several nominations and awards at the 14th Annual National Youth Arts Awards for the 2018-2019 season! This is a very exciting opportunity for our students, who will now join the ranks of previous NYA award winners, many of whom are currently starring on Broadway, in National Tours, and on TV and Film such Dear Evan Hansen, Hamilton, and the new film Shazam! Alhambra High School earned 4 awards and 5 additional nominations! Kick Off Registration days begins on Thursday, August 1st, with seniors. Stations will be placed around the campus for students to visit in order to complete the registration process. Subsequent days will follow for other groups Class Schedule: Senior Kick-Off: Thursday, August 1. Junior Kick-Off: Friday, August 2. Sophomore Kick-Off: Monday, August 5. Freshman Kick-Off: Tuesday, August 6.

Portraits for 12th graders will commence on Wednesday, July 31st, in C225 (NEW LOCATION) beginning at 2:00pm until 6:00pm. SCHOOL ENDS... AND ANOTHER YEAR BEGINS!!!

The new school year will commence on Friday, August 9th. It will most likely be a reverse minimum day with Freshman arriving at 7:41am and going to the auditorium. Sophomores will also arrive at 7:41am and go straight to the Large Gym. Juniors and seniors should arrive by 8:45am.

The Alhambra Unified 2019 Employees of the Year, beloved for their gifts for relationship-building and their dedication to students, were honored by the AUSD Board.
