IT IS A REGULAR SCHOOL SCHEDULE THIS WEEK WITH COLLAB SCHEDULE ON FRIDAY.

Can you believe it is fall already? It still feels like summer! This week, September 28 - October 2, it is regular schedule with Advisory periods on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday - student choice. Then on Friday, there will be Collab Schedule with school ending at 2:38 pm.

BUY YOUR HOMECOMING DANCE TICKET!

The Homecoming Dance is coming up on Saturday, October 10th! Purchase your ticket at the Student Bank asap! Ticket prices are as follows: $20.00 with ASB Card and $22.00 without during this coming week, September 28th through October 2nd. During the last week, it will be $22.00 with ASB Card and $25.00 without. The night will prove to be fun for all!

THE HOMECOMING DANCE DATE HAS BEEN CHANGED!!!

If you have not heard already, the Homecoming Dance has been moved to Saturday, October 9th, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. A Night in Rio with lights under the stars will be a great time for all!

GET READY FOR THE ANNUAL HAUNTED HOUSE!

The AHS Thespians will be hosting the annual Haunted House - with this year's event titled "Caged." It will be held on Friday, October 9th, from 3:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Ticket prices are $8.00 for students and $10.00 for adults. Come out and support your AHS Theater program! The South Coast AQMD has requested AUSD's assistance in sharing this notification of a project to be located within 1,000 feet from an AUSD school. AUSD has experienced a steady decline in student enrollment over the past few decades. Changes to enrollment can be challenging, but they also provide an opportunity to thoughtfully consider the future of the district and how we can continue providing strong educational experiences for students. Like many school districts throughout the State, AUSD is experiencing declining enrollment. This has significant implications for our schools and the district as a whole. AUSD formed an Enrollment Impact Committee (or EIC) to study this issue. We are inviting the community to be part of the conversation. PLEASE NOTE TECH SUPPORT OFFICE HOURS!

If your school laptop needs help, please note the hours of the newly revamped Tech Office in D104: one hour before school everyday; Advisory and Homeroom on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday; and after school only on Monday and Friday. The Tech Office will be closed at all other times.

ACT BUS WILL NO LONGER STOP ON COMMONWEALTH AND SECOND STREET

ALHAMBRA ACADEC WINS BACK-TO-BACK-TO BACK IN LA COUNTY!

CONGRATS TO THE STATE PTA REFLECTIONS WINNER, EMMETT LEE!

Congratulations to Emmett Lee, first place winner of the California PTA Reflections Award of Excellence for his film "Greyscale" in the High School Film Production Category. In addition, the film took the highest honors in Outstanding Interpretation Film Production.

FIVE AHS STUDENTS WIN NATIONAL SPEECH & DEBATE ASSOCIATION AWARD!

Five students from Alhambra High School have earned the National Speech & Debate Association’s Academic All American Award, one of the highest honors presented by the organization. Emilie Taniguchi, Collin Lei, Brizia Eb, Suki Li, and Brendon Wu were given the very selective award which recognizes students who have demonstrated excellence both in competition and in the classroom. To qualify, students must earn the degree of Superior Distinction, which requires at least 750 speech and debate tournament and service points. Recipients must also have completed a minimum of five semesters of high school, maintained a GPA of 3.7 or higher, and demonstrated outstanding character, leadership, and academic achievement. Fewer than one percent of student competitors nationwide receive the distinction each year.
