Most are scheduled between now and the end of August, but we have one scheduled for September 21st. (The list will have the specific date/time for your child's school.)

Please join us at our next Board of Education Meeting! A highlight of the meeting will be a celebration of the first Game Changers of the Year. Congratulations to: NATHANIEL SAPALICIO, STEM Teacher at Baldwin School and SERGIO ESCOBEDO, Custodian at Marguerita School. Our next Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) meeting will be IN PERSON and held at the District Office on March 18th, 2024, beginning at 6:00pm. (Please note that this is a revised start time to what was shared in the last AUSD Connections Newsletter.) This meeting will be an interactive opportunity for you to provide input and feedback on the 2024-2024 LCAP Plan. We have two staff reports scheduled for next Tuesday's Board of Education meeting. At the August 29th Board Meeting, we will have one staff report on the agenda: "2016 General Obligation Bonds - Second Series Issuance." AUSD is preparing to issue its second series of bonds under Measure HS of 2016. The Bond Finance Team will present an overview of the issuance process and the bond documents that the Board will adopt later in the meeting. Alhambra High School was selected as one of 52 recipients of California’s leading educational honor, the Golden Bell Award, for the Dream Center! The Golden Bell Awards, celebrating their 43rd year, are presented by the California School Boards Association to promote excellence in public education and school board governance by recognizing outstanding programs and governance practices. The awards reflect the depth and breadth of education programs and governance decisions supporting these programs that are necessary to address students’ changing needs. Congrats to Mr. Javier Gutierrez, Ms. Karen Jacboson, and all of the staff and students who assist with the Dream Center!

At the next Board of Education Meeting on Tuesday, August 8th, we will welcome our first-ever Student Board of Education Member. We are honored to have Assemblymember MikeFong administer the Oath of Office to AUSD Student Board Member Justin Wang (AHS senior) and Alternate Kaitlyn Cao (MKHS senior). The ceremony will take place at the beginning of the public portion of the Board Meeting, which will begin at 6:00pm.
