THANK YOU MR. LAU, MR. GUTIERREZ AND MS. SIMMONS FOR A WONDERFUL ECON SUMMIT!! It was a hectic day of activity as seniors congregated in the large gym with their trifolds, costumes and food for the annual Econ Summit! By representing one country and exercising trade exchanges and alliances, students learned about how the real world experiences (in the workplace, too!) and gained some terrific knowledge to take with them as they pursue their careers.

CONGRATS TO THE MESA DAY COMPETITORS! Congratulations to the members of MESA who competed in the Regional Competition at MESA Day! Winning first place in Impromptu Speech were Ann Vo and Brandon Cong. Winning second place in NEDC were Julia Huang and Sophie Huang. Placing third in Bio Breakthrough were Abigail Trang, Samantha Kha, and Shirley Phung. Also placing third in Coding Solutions were Joshua Murti and Samuel King. Another third place win goes to Allison Liu, Hongsheng Zhou, and Zihan Mi in Math Escape! Congrats to all!

CONGRATS TO THE AHS DANCE TEAM AND ALL MALE FOR A SPECTACULAR DANCE FINALS! Congratulations to the AHS Dance Team and All Male for a wonderful finish to the Dance season at the Aliso Classic Finals! First place awards included Pom Drill, CoEd Dance and Small All Male! Soloists and duets won seven awards with Ryota Isoda and Jaden Yu placing first for Duet! The parents also won the 'Participation in the Stands' trophy! Congrats to all!
CONGRATS TO SENIOR EMMETT LEE - PTA REFLECTIONS STATE WINNER! Congrats to our very own Emmett Lee for winning 1st place in the PTA Reflections contest for his video, "Grayscale" in the high school film production category! In addition, he was also designated the Outstanding Interpretation Award Winner, the highest award in film production - the highest honor that the California PTA Reflection committee bestows!
THANK YOU, AHS THESPIANS, FOR A TERRIFIC RUN OF "THE OUTSIDERS" THIS SPRING! A big round of applause for the spring play, "The Outsiders," performed by the AHS Thespians. Three glorious days of performances included three matinees - one for middle school, one for high school and on Saturday - and three evening shows. The entire production, from stage setting to the two casts and a soundtrack proved to make for a memorable spring play!

CONGRATS TO THE AHS ACADEMIC DECATHLON TEAM FOR WINNING 6TH IN THE NATION!!! It is a definite 3-PEAT! The AHS Academic Decathlon Team has won 1st place in Los Angeles County for the third year in a row!!! And now - 6th in the national for a second year in a row!!!
