The Cal State Writing Center Returns

The Cal State LA Writing Center is now up and running! Beginning last week, the Writing Center will be open for business in room C126 after school on Wednesdays. Any student needing help with class assignments or college statements is welcome. Please visit Dr. Land and his staff for assistance.

Revolution Prep Spring Online Courses

The Alhambra Unified School District has once again partnered with Revolution Prep for the 2018-2019 school year to offer SAT and ACT Group Courses. Pick a schedule that is most convenient for you. Online classes can be launched from anywhere (home, school, library) -- all you will need is internet access and a computer!

Sign-ups are now open. Priority will be given to 11th grade (Juniors) followed by 10th grade (Sophomores); however, all Juniors and Sophomores are encouraged to register. Reserve your spot! Mr. Jose Sanchez Chosen to Serve on State Advisory Committee

Mr. Jose Sanchez of the Social Sciences Department has been chosen to serve on the California Department of Education State Seal of Engagement Advisory Committee. As one of fourteen state teachers, Sanchez will assist in developing criteria for the awards given to deserving high school seniors who demonstrate excellence in civics education and participation, and have demonstrated an understanding of the U.S. Constitution.

Alhambra HS Wins Prestigious Golden Bell Award for Moor Friends!

Alhambra High School just won a prestigious Golden Bell Award for its Moor Friends Program! Moor Friends was founded on the premise that help nurture a growing culture of establishing long lasting friendships across the student body. The groups helps to forge unique partnerships and bonds between general education and special education students. Teachers Melissa Martinez, Wendy Osawa and Jamie Peralta spearhead the program. In its 39th year, the Golden Bell Award honors public school programs innovation, sustainability, and best practices that facilitate positive student outcomes.

Parent Walk Through Proves Fun and Enjoyable for all!

On November 15, 23 parents and guardians descended upon Alhambra High School and strode through the campus with administrators, visiting a plethora of classrooms during the morning hours. They were able to witness instruction and collaboration with teachers and students as it happened. Each was thoroughly impressed by much of the interaction and demonstrations throughout their tour.

A resounding standing ovation to the entire cast and crew of the Alhambra High School Thespians with its fall presentation of the gripping story, "Flowers For Algernon." Ms. Rachel Snow and her entire ensemble did a superb job!!! We look forward to the spring musical. (The clue to the title of the spring musical became featured on the last page of the fall play playbill...)
