All members of the AUSD family are welcome to attend the Swearing-In Ceremony for the 2024-2025 Student Board Member Keiko Rakin (AHS junior) and Student Board Member Alternate Madison Kang (MKHS senior). The ceremony will take place at the beginning of the August 27th Board Meeting (6:00pm). At that meeting, the 12 students of the Student Advisory Council will be formally introduced to the public. Afterwards, the Board will take brief recess for a celebratory reception in the their honor.

AUSD is excited to announce Alhambra High School's 2nd Annual PARENT EDUCATION ACADEMY, in conjunction with Asian Youth Center (AYC). This program will be held at AHS' Dream Center but is OPEN TO ANY AUSD PARENT! Classes will begin the week of September 21st and will continue through December. The exact day of the week is still TBD (probably Wednesday or Thursday), but the times will be 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Translations (in Chinese, Spanish, and Vietnamese), childcare, and dinner are all provided. Throughout the weekend, we have been in contact with authorities from the cities we serve, as well as the Los Angeles County Office of Education, and are expecting ALL SCHOOLS TO OPEN as scheduled on Monday.

All sites will be inspected early tomorrow morning and principals will notify families if there are any impacts to arrival routes or school entries. Important information is always shared at Back-to-School (BTS) Night. Please CLICK ON THE HEADLINE to download a list of dates/times for our sites' BTS Nights. Most are scheduled between now and the end of August, but we have one scheduled for September 21st. (The list will have the specific date/time for your child's school.)

Please join us at our next Board of Education Meeting! A highlight of the meeting will be a celebration of the first Game Changers of the Year. Congratulations to: NATHANIEL SAPALICIO, STEM Teacher at Baldwin School and SERGIO ESCOBEDO, Custodian at Marguerita School. Our next Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) meeting will be IN PERSON and held at the District Office on March 18th, 2024, beginning at 6:00pm. (Please note that this is a revised start time to what was shared in the last AUSD Connections Newsletter.) This meeting will be an interactive opportunity for you to provide input and feedback on the 2024-2024 LCAP Plan.
