AUSD will have a STUDENT Board of Education member in the 2023-24 school year. Current students in grades 9-11 were recently informed they can run for the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council (SAC). The SAC representatives will be elected by the peers at their site and once seated, will select a chairperson who will serve as the Student Board Member for one year. Between mid-March and mid-May, each of our schools will host an Open House to showcase their students' learning throughout the 2022-23 school year. Please mark your calendar and look out for more information directly from your child's school as your site Open House gets closer! (Special Note to Baldwin & Marguerita School Parents: The times for your child's Open House are slightly different than what was originally published in the local papers.)

Our next Board of Education meeting will be next Tuesday, April 25th. There will be three staff reports on the agenda: (1) Overview of the AUSD Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) Plan, (2) Overview of the 2022-23 Arts, Music, and Instructional Materials Block Grant, and (3) Overview of Proposition 28 Additional Funding for Arts and Music Education in Public Schools.
