Alhambra Unified School District's Student Employee Welfare Department is proud to present the next webinar in our Gateway to Success Webinar Series: Tobacco & Vape Awareness through Tobacco Use Prevention Education.

The webinar will be taking place on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. and will then be archived on our Gateway Website. Please join us for this event.

The use of vape products by youth is an epidemic across the United States. Recognizing the harm caused to youth by vaping, AUSD has partnered with the LA County Office of Education plus multiple school districts and has received the Tobacco Use Prevention Education (TUPE). Part of the grant is to provide information to parents and students to help reduce the use of vape and tobacco products. For this webinar, we will hear from community partners Asian Pacific Islander Forward Movement (APIFM) about the dangers of smoking/vaping during the COVID pandemic. Finally, the Breathe Free Alhambra Coalition (BFAC) will provide updates on the dangers of secondhand smoke and ways for parents to actively advocate for smoke-free policies in their community.
