***Congratulations to the AHS Speech & Debate Team for a great showing at the Jack Howe Tournament held at Cal State Long Beach this past weekend. Felice Gonzales took 1st in Oratorical Interp (continuing her winning streak from State Championships!) and Matthew Chiu won 1st as a Student Congress Presiding Officer!

Tiffany Chiang nabbed 3rd in Original Advocacy, Annie Tran placed 4th in Student Congress and Derek Wu took 4th in Novice Oratorical Interp. Making it to semis in Student Congress were Eddie Chang, Alex Rinard and Devin Lu. Other semi-finalists include Andy Chan in Extemp and Kesia Eng in Oratorical Interp.***

Girls Soccer Tryouts, next week Monday through Wednesday, Oct. 6-8th from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at Moor Field.  Coach Dodosh, Room B-22

CAHSEE  for 11th and 12th Grade Students will be administered October 7th and 8th at 7:45 a.m. List will be posted in Guidance Office later this week.

Fall training for track team starts this Monday, 10/6 after school on the track at 3:15pm.  –Mr. Shapiro

It’s that time of the year to order your class rings! Head to the auditorium during lunch  this, Tuesday 9/30 with an $80.00 deposit to order.

Sophomores: The rest of the Sophomore t-shirts are in.  If you bought a Sophomore Pack and haven’t picked up your t-shirt yet, come by the Student Bank to do so.

JUNIORS: The rest of the Junior t-shirts are in.  Come by the Student Bank to pick yours up if you bought a Junior Pack, or buy one for $10.

EVENTS:
The start of October means Homecoming season! Come to Third Street this Thursday 10/2 during lunch for our second Talent Thursdayand a special Homecoming revelation!
Be there to find out this year’s theme and all Homecoming information!
Fall Rally will be this Friday 10/3 during lunch at the Quad! Come watch special performances and support all our fall teams!
Boys Water Polo rally will be on Tuesday 9/30 at lunch on Third Street.
OPEN MEETINGS:
FBLA! If you are interested in joining or want to learn more about the Future Business Leaders of America, there will be another open meeting on Monday, September 29 after school in IT4 at 2:55. Build your college resume by getting involved in competitions, taking on leadership roles and contributing to your community. Everyone is welcome! — Ms. Trumpower

SkillsUSA open meeting Monday 3pm in room IT-2. be part a nationally recognized leadership and skill organization.  compete in architecture, wood tech, auto tech, job interview and other events. new members are welcome.
Boys Federation is having an open meeting this Thursday 10/2 in Room D305 after school.
