The BILL OF RIGHTS INSTITUTE is offering an essay contest on the topic of the Constitution. Students must visit their website (link: https://wethestudents.fluidreview.com/acc/r/) and register. Students simply provide basic information and answer this question in 800 words or less: “Since you were born, has America moved closer to or further away from the ideals outlined in the Declaration of Independence?” The first prize winner will receive $5,000, second prize $3,000, and third prize $1,500! Five Honorable Mentions worth $300 each will be awarded. Students that submit essays by November 15, 2014 are also eligible for one of five $100 Early Bird cash prizes. Deadline to submit is Dec. 5, 2014.

Reasons To Apply For CSF, California Scholarship FederationFirst, it’s a statewide honor society for students.  Second, you get stuff.  Seniors who attain 4 semesters of membership in CSF with one in their senior year are awarded a gold cord to wear at graduation and a gold CSF seal on their diploma. The words “CSF Life Membership” are added to their permanent high school transcript.  Seniors with 6 semesters of CSF membership earn a gold stole to wear at graduation plus the gold CSF diploma seal and transcript notation ”CSF 100% Life Membership“. CSF applications are in the Activities Office.  The deadline to apply for CSF is Friday, September 26 at 3:00 pm – NO EXCEPTIONS!  Be sure to include the $5.00 donation AND your ORIGINAL report card or an OFFICIAL CSF report card with your application.  Put it in the CSF box in the Activities Office.  Questions:  See Ms. Jacobson in C327 or Mrs. Kalbfleisch in C326.

Students must carry their I. D. cards at all times.  If you haven’t picked up your card pick it up at the Guidance office before school, during lunch and after school.  If you lost your I. D. check with Student Services.
Senior Class T-Shirts are available at the Student Bank.  Buy one for $12 or pick yours up if you bought a Senior Pack.
