Registration Week

Hello moors, registration for school will start on August 4th and end on August 8th. Each grade level will have a specific date and time to go through the registration process. Students will come to the school on their designated day to turn in their registration documents, get their class tentative schedules, pick up picture identification cards, apply for a free or reduced lunch and clear any fines at the library or return books to the bookroom. Remember there will be no makeup dates.

May 30 – Minimum Day Schedule

Finals are finally over Moors! The last day of school has finally arrived! Congratulations Class of 2014 You did it! We couldn’t be more proud of you. We wish you the best of luck in the future!

Please turn in your registration forms at Guidance.

The library is now open through the last day of school. All students are reminded to return all books and pay all fines before the end of school. Come by and check your record to be sure.

AFE TUTOR CLASS: Students who signed up for the AFE TUTOR class as an elective must come to C327 this week to pick up an application form and get the summer training schedule. See Ms Jacobson. Also, please attend the short (15 minutes or less) mandatory meeting in C327 for AFE enrolled students on Friday, May 30 right after school, minimum day.

Graduation

***Rehearsal is 7:45 am. on Friday, May 30th. Students get their own rides/transportation to ELAC.Graduation at ELAC is at 6 pm Friday, May 30th.***
***Graduation Tickets will be on sale at student bank until 2 pm Friday May 30. They will be sold at ELAC for $8 on the day of graduation.***

The 5 free Graduation Ticket will be distributed along with cap and gown. BUT students must definitely turn in their books PRIOR TO CAP AND GOWN DISTRIBUTION.  Students with free 6th CAN Pick up during 6th.

Reaching For Moor!

***The Social Science Department would like to congratulate Sadie Rubalcava as this year’s Daughter’s of the American Revolution Award recipient!  This award is given each year to a top 11th grade female student who displays excellence in history.***

***Congratulations are also due to Sydney Tea and Renata Rodriguez as finalists for the award.  All three of these students (Sadie, Sydney and Renata) displayed amazing scholarship and maturity and we look forward to seeing them continue their growth and development in their senior year.  If you have any of these students in class, please congratulate them on their achievement.***

Congratulations to Jonathan Le for winning Jean Ward Foundation Grant.  Jonathan will receive a $1,750 art college scholarship.

Congratulations to the AHS Speech & Debate Team for capturing 3rd place sweepstakes at the Novice Champs Tournament held this past weekend! Contributing to the trophy were:

Congratulations to Speech & Debate Team member Eddie Chang for winning 1st place in the finals for the Optimist Club Oratorical Contest! Eddie will receive a $2,500 college scholarship. Also congrats to Francis Lin as the runner-up of the contest held in Long Beach this past weekend.
