Congratulations new CSF Members!  We accepted a record 267 students based on your second semester grades from June 2018.  Today and tomorrow (Dec 10-11) you can expect to receive your CSF Acceptance Letter during your 4th period classes or 3rdperiod if you have PE.  Be proud of your strong academic achievement last year.  The next CSF application period for this year’s semester one grades will be January 14 - 31, 2019.  Save your semester one report card!  Seniors: You must have at least one semester of membership in your senior year to qualify for a graduation cord or stole, so be sure to apply in January! ~Karen Jacobson (C327) & Eric Bergstrom, CSF Advisors


Come check out the Ceramic Holiday sale 12/10-12/14 in front of the cafeteria during LUNCH. Items include pots with succulents, bowls, ornaments, cups, plates, and more. Profits will help fund the next ceramic garden mural. Thanks for your support!  


AP Students:
Please be advised that Advanced Placement (AP) students will receive a cover letter from our Assistant Superintendent of Financial Services along with a 2018-19 Student Eligibility Verification- College Board Fee Waiver Verification form.  Students, you are expected to review this information with your parents/guardians and complete the form as deemed necessary to qualify for AP Fee Reduction(s). This form is due to return to your AP Teacher(s) on Friday, December 14 for processing.
 The cover letter and verification form is to be distributed to students by Monday, December 10th.


Library Information : Please remember all books must be returned to the library by Thursday, Dec. 20th before Winter Break.    Also,  remember we have lots of scratch-n-sniff Christmas bookmarks.


Auditions for the Spring musical: Chicago will be held after school on Thursday, January 10! Please be familiar with the song "All That Jazz" and wear comfortable clothing and either dance shoes or sneakers. Auditions begin at 3pm and will end at roughly 6:30pm. First come first served.


Interested in being a part of stage crew? Want to run lights and sound, build sets, select costumes, etc? See Ms. Snow for a Moor Tech Crew application in the Little Theater. Applications are due back by December 20. Tech interviews will be held Thursday, 1/17.

Boys' tennis tryouts are Monday and Tuesday December 10th and 11th after school at the tennis courts. Please come properly dressed.


Important Dates:

Monday, 12/10 - SAC ELAC Parent Meeting @ 6:30 pm in the AHS Cafeteria.The purpose of the SAC/ELAC meeting is to enhance communication between the school and the parents. We would like parents to give us your input about how we can better meet the needs of our parents. The agenda  includes: Sign-In; Review minutes; PAC/DAC/DELAC Reports; Review needs assessment results; Reclassified Certificates; SPSA highlights/action plan; Parent Involvement and Goal and Evaluation. Translators in Chinese and Spanish will be available to assist you. We look forward to meeting with you on December 10 at 6:30pm. . Your participation is vital to the success of our school.

  • From 12/24/18 to 1/4/2019 - Winter Break - School resumes 1/7/2019


Reaching for Moor

Badminton Tournament Results:  Congratulations to the top six student teams who competed recently in the badminton tournament sponsored by the VISA Service Club at lunch in the gym.  The tournament winners included:

VISA thanks Ms Kaiser in the PE Department for supporting the tournament as well as the members of the AHS Badminton team who helped with net set up and judging.  


Last week we had the honor of being present as AHS accepted a Golden Bell Award from CSBA for their  Moor Friends Club.  All of us in attendance were incredibly proud.  The LACOE Superintendent sent out a highlight of all the Golden Bells awarded to LA County Districts. Congratulations to AHS!
