ACELLUS During Thanksgiving Break:  Students taking online Acellus classes can come to school on Monday, November 25 from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon to work on their Acellus class and get tests unlocked in C327.  On Tuesday, November 26 students can work in D103 from 10:00 am and 12:00 noon. We can unlock tests in all subjects - English, social science, biology and math.  Reminder:  Your goal is to finish your Acellus class by December 20!

 

CSF Application Deadline:  Tuesday, November 19 is the last day to apply for CSF membership with your semester 2 (June 04, 2019) report card and grades.  Submit your application to the Student Bank no later than 3:15 on Tuesday!  Any questions?  See Ms Jacobson in C327 after school.

Alhambra Cheer will be having team tryouts next week on Tuesday, November 19th, to November 21st, from 3:30pm to 5:00pm in the Dance Room. No experience necessary. Please bring: 1. a completed physical athletic form. 2. an emergency card. 3. current PowerSchool grades 2.0 gpa required.

Get a 2020 Rose Parade preview celebration of our AUSD Marching Band at the Tri-City Field Show on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the SGHS Stadium. This is a free event.  There will be food and drinks available for purchase.  Flyer attached.

Our next game is this Friday, November 15th. The game will be held at Orange Coast College's Lebard Stadium (see link below for college address and directions). To help assist our fans in getting to and from the event, AHS will have buses this Friday to assist in transportation.  Students and chaperones will ride together and parents will ride separately in another bus.

Seats are limited, so please purchase now and reserve your spot. There are only three buses and 165 spots available. They will go quickly. Adult Tickets (including chaperones and AHS staff): $10.00 + $5.00 (for bus transportation) = total $15.00

SENIORS,

It's time to order your diplomas. The name on your diploma must be your legal name.  That is, the name that is on your Birth Certificate. If you want to change your name, you must show court documents or any other official or legal document.  It is your responsibility to check that your name is correct. Go to http://student.ausd.us. to check your name.  If your name is not correct or it needs to be changed, please go to the Office of School counseling to fill out a Name Change Form before Friday, November 15, 2019. Believe it or not, Grad Night is quickly approaching! 

Each year, and with student input, Alhambra High School looks at different options (dates available and cost comparisons) in securing its Grad Night. For the 2020 Grad Night, there were several scheduling conflicts amongst our local amusement parks. Thankfully- and after much work- a date for Universal Studios was secured. Please know that all dates (contract submissions, ticket purchases and tiered cost deadlines) will be reported out soon.  Please look to both the student bulletin and school website for more information in the coming days.

Congratulations to Cross Country. Our GIrls Varsity finished 1st place yesterday and the boys finished 2nd. Both teams will advance to the CIF championships.

Additionally, congratulations to Milan Cambon for finishing 1st place in the girls varsity race and being the league champion. Masato Shigeta also finished first place and won the Boys JV championship. Go Moors!!!

Congratulations to Cross Country. Our GIrls Varsity finished 1st place yesterday and the boys finished 2nd. Both teams will advance to the CIF championships.

Additionally, congratulations to Milan Cambon for finishing 1st place in the girls varsity race and being the league champion. Masato Shigeta also finished first place and won the Boys JV championship. Go Moors!!!

It's time to order your diplomas. The name on your diploma must be your legal name.  That is, the name that is on your Birth Certificate. If you want to change your name, you must show court documents or any other official or legal document.  It is your responsibility to check that your name is correct. Go to http://student.ausd.us. to check your name.  If your name is not correct or it needs to be changed, please go to the Office of School counseling to fill out a Name Change Form before Friday, November 15, 2019. Believe it or not, Grad Night is quickly approaching! 

Each year, and with student input, Alhambra High School looks at different options (dates available and cost comparisons) in securing its Grad Night. For the 2020 Grad Night, there were several scheduling conflicts amongst our local amusement parks. Thankfully- and after much work- a date for Universal Studios was secured. Please know that all dates (contract submissions, ticket purchases and tiered cost deadlines) will be reported out soon.  Please look to both the student bulletin and school website for more information in the coming days.

Social Science students have joined together in creating the Junior Historical Society. They will be having a meeting this Wednesday 10/9 in D208 during Lunch. Please encourage your students to check out the club. We will be discussing local Alhambra history and talking to the students about the National History Day project and event coming up in the next few months.

The College Board, creators of Advanced Placement, have made significant changes to the AP exam ordering process, deadlines and cancellation fees that will be mandated for all schools and all students in the 2019-2020 school year. AP Exam fees remain the same. The cost is $94 per exam. The cost for students eligible through the fee waiver is $5 per exam. Our student banker will be accepting payments from October 1st through November 1st. We will no longer be accepting payments in the Spring. The 2019-2020 Student Eligibility Verification/College Board Fee Waiver Forms are available in the Counseling office. These forms will need to be submitted to Erin Gonzalez in the Counseling office by Friday, September 27, 2019. Please note, any student with an unused exam will be charged $40 and it will be reflected on their student account charges. If you have any questions, please see our AP Coordinator, Antonio Kim or AP of Instruction, Dr. Chavez

Congratulations to the AHS Speech & Debate Team for its season opener this past weekend! Seven students converged on the campus of Cal State Long Beach and six broke to semis and finals. Taking 1st place in the Oratorical Interpretation category was Nam Nguyen! Taking sixth place in Extemporaneous Speaking was Nicholas Andrian with Jaylen Luc taking 7th! In addition, Heidi Li won 7th place in Original Advocacy! Ada Duan and Aishani Selluthurai broke to semi-finals in the tough Duo category and placed 16th. Congrats to all!

  • Please join our Alhambra High Parent Teacher Association (PTA). Membership is $10. Our PTA provides scholarships for graduating seniors, mini grants for teachers, support for teacher and parent engagement events, and a voice for parents.
