For this quarantine school year, the school bulletin should be read to students especially during Homeroom and/or any period.

THE QUARANTINE STUDENT BULLETIN (updated as of November 15, 2020)

HOMEROOM FOR NOVEMBER 18TH: Students should watch two videos - one entitled "AHS Tutoring" and the other entitled "What is Leadership?" Afterwards, each grade level has a different presentation: 9th - SEL Motivational Presentation; 10th - Career Presentation; 11th - Post Secondary Options Presentation; 12th - Financial Aid Presentation. POETRY OUTLOUD VIRTUAL SLAM: Hey AHS students! If you'd like to support your peers at the upcoming Poetry Out Loud ( Virtual, Covid-safe) Slam, we'd love to have you participate! The Zoom event will take place on Wednesday, November 18th, from 1:30-3:30pm. In case you've never heard of POL, it's a national recitation program that gives our students an opportunity to create meaningful connections to literature, as well as opportunities to network with important media representation and local literati. WE HOPE EVERYONE IS DOING WELL!!! Even though we are not here physically on campus with you, please let a teacher or counselor know if you need to talk! We are here for you. Please be safe.  


TEXTBOOK PICKUP/EXCHANGE MAKE-UP DAY:  There will be no textbook pickup dates for the week of November 9th through 13th. When the next dates are announced, please drive southward on 2nd Street. Have a student I.D. or copy of your schedule ready and please wear a mask.  


PLEASE NOTICE THE NEW STATE LAWS REGARDING ONLINE ATTENDANCE:  Please make every effort to attend your online classes. With the new State Regulations, students should have at least some Chat time with a teacher, submit homework or classwork assignments, have a camera on, etc.  




ORDER YOUR COPY OF NEXT YEAR'S YEARBOOK! Students, faculty and staff can still order a yearbook. The cost of students with an ASB Card will be $70.00; without an ASB Card will be $75.00, and Faculty/Staff will be $65.00. Order one on the AHS Student Bank site at ahsmoors.org. Pick up will be in August. Please call the AHS Student Bank  ahead of time.  



Important Dates:

  • Thanksgiving Break: November 23 through 27
  • No Homeroom during the week of December 14 to 18
  • Last day of school: Friday, December 18, 2020.


Save the Dates:

      • The Spring Fling for 2021 is tentatively slated for Friday, March 19 or 26, 2021.

IF YOU DIDN'T KNOW... CONGRATULATIONS TO FCCLA VIRTUAL STATE LEADERSHIP WINNERS!!!   At the first FCCLA Virtual State Leadership Conference held on the last Saturday in April, the following students placed using scores from previous competitive events from ten different regions in California:

CONGRATULATIONS TO SPEECH & DEBATE AT THE NATIONAL SPEECH & DEBATE ASSOCATION VIRTUAL NATIONAL QUALIFIER!!!    At the the first ever "NSDA Virtual National Qualifier" held over the past three weeks in April/May, the following students qualified for the National Tournament!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE DANCE TEAMS AT THE VIRTUAL DANCE NATIONALS COMPETITION!!!   At the the first ever "Virtual Dance Nationals" held over the week, congrats in the following categories:
