Moor Newspaper

Newspaper

Established in 1910, The Moor is the student-run newspaper of Alhambra High School, located in Alhambra, CA. Currently in its 102nd year of publication, The Moor had been a weekly publication for 98 years and has transitioned to a biweekly publication because of financial issues. Covering topics ranging from news to sports, The Moor has won a wide variety of awards, from regional Sweepstakes awards to the coveted Pacemaker award given out annually by the National Scholastic Press Association. In 1998, 2004, and 2005 the Los Angeles Times recognized The Moor as a newspaper of “excellence.” The Moor comes in both print and on-line versions. In 2011 The Moor was inducted into the National Scholastic Press Association’s Hall of Fame.
