BE SAFE
Please remind your students of the below mentioned issues to keep them safe and out of trouble.
- No loitering in public areas where you are hidden from view
- Respect the property of others (buildings, light poles, signs, windows and benches……)
- Refrain from Public Display of Affection (P.D.A.)
- When school is in session, students should be in school
MINOR LOITERING 9.12.030 A.M.C. (ALHAMBRA MUNICIPAL CODE)
0830 – 1330 HRS.
It shall be unlawful for any minor under the age of 18 years, who is subject to compulsory education or to compulsory continuation education to loiter, idle, wander, or be in or upon the public streets, high-ways, roads, alleys, parks, playgrounds, or other public eating places, vacant lots or any unsupervised place during the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on days when school is in session.
In essence, if a student is caught off campus, the student is subject to arrest, fine and a court appearance with parent or guardian.
PARKING AT SCHOOL
The Alhambra Police Department would like to alert parents to the Laws
pertaining to parking your vehicle at a painted curb. The Alhambra Police
Department receives complaints every year regarding parking violations at
schools. The curbs are painted for the safety of the children. The Alhambra
Police Department makes child safety their highest priority and will be
patrolling schools for curb parking violations.
White / Valet Zone:
Parking is allowed to load and unload passengers. Vehicles may not
park longer than 3 minutes in this zone.
Blue:
Parking for the disabled only. Motorists must have a disabled person
parking placard (typically hanging on the rear view mirror) or disabled
person license plate.
Green:
Parking allowed only for 24 minutes.
Yellow:
No stopping unless loading or unloading passengers. Vehicle may
not park longer than 20 minutes in this zone.
Red:
No stopping, standing, or parking. No loading or unloading
passengers at any time.
